Associate Attorney
Benjamin J. Axelman
Ben Axelman joined TLG Law in 2024 after graduating from UNC Law and relocating to Charlotte. Originally from Baltimore, but having lived all over the place, Ben takes great pride in bringing a tenacious and thorough, yet professional and compassionate approach to each and every client engagement. Ben is licensed to practice in both North Carolina and South Carolina.
Ben is experienced with a wide variety of legal matters, but focuses primarily on corporate and business litigation, real property and construction disputes, reputational tort claims, intellectual property litigation and consulting, and general contract-related issues. Ben has experience in federal court, state court, and the North Carolina Business Court, as well as in the North Carolina Court of Appeals.
While at UNC School of Law, Ben represented the school at national sports-related negotiation competitions in New York City and New Orleans as part of UNC's Holderness Moot Court program. Ben also served as Co-President for UNC's Sports and Entertainment Law Association during his 2L year, and represented UNC Law as a student-delegate to the Susie Sharp Inn of Court during his 3L year, where he organized and hosted a CLE for the attorneys and judges, and where he was honored as the Inn's annual Student Scholarship Award Recipient for extraordinary contribution.
Growing up, Ben trained in martial arts for several years, instilling in him a sense of discipline, tenacity, and humility which he aims to apply in every aspect of his life.
Ben was also an emergency medical technician in New York City, a profession which trained him to maintain composure in the most unpredictable and chaotic situations, improvise quickly, problem-solve like someone's life depends upon it, and to understand that every patient—and client—might be relying upon him to help them through one of the toughest challenges of their lives.
When not working toward the best outcome for his clients, Ben enjoys adventuring, traveling, watching or playing football, or just kicking back with his beloved wife and dogs, listening to and playing music, and sometimes pretending to be the world's greatest chef—mostly for his wife and dogs.
