Michael Lasry

Michael Avitan-Lasry is a litigation associate at TLG Law, where he focuses his practice on complex business litigation, construction litigation, insurance defense, and personal injury. He brings a thorough, hands-on approach to every matter — from initial pleadings through to the matter's ultimate resolution at trial, arbitration, or elsewhere.

Michael's strong track record of finding effective solutions to his clients' claims is directly attributable to TLG Law's guiding principle of following a suit's "Critical Path" towards resolution. In so doing, Michael has been reliably successful in forcing even the most contentious parties to come to the table and negotiate satisfying resolutions to his clients' matters.

Licensed to practice in both North Carolina and South Carolina, Michael brings a broad range of state-specific legal acumen that is a genuine asset to his clients. Having grown up in the Lowcountry of South Carolina, he developed a deep familiarity with the culture and people of the Palmetto State long before he ever set foot in an N.C. law school classroom. That foundation, combined with his experience in both states, means he understands the procedural nuances, local perspectives, and judicial expectations on both sides of the state line — and can navigate them effectively on behalf of clients in either jurisdiction.

Michael earned his Juris Doctor degree from Wake Forest University School of Law, where he was a Trial Bar Member and Wake Forest's North Carolina Bar Association Representative. He is a member of the North Carolina Bar Association, the South Carolina Bar Association, and the Mecklenburg Bar Association.

In his free time, Michael enjoys traveling to both the beach and the snowy mountains, where he enjoys skiing, playing a terrible game of golf and, whenever possible, crabbing with his friends and family.
